Ciao ragazzi! ¡Hola chicos!

27 Sep

This is my first post for you all from Argentina. Ciao! ¡Hola! I hope you all had a great summer and are having a great year, adjusting to your new teachers, your new schedule and your new classes. As most of you know, after teaching for 18 years, I have taken a leave of absence from Livingston HS to live in Argentina with my family.  So far, after a month and half here, it has been exciting, scary, interesting and full of valuable experiences that I’ll keep with me forever… with another 10 months to go!

Anyway, my goal has been to keep a journal… make that a BLOG of my experiences, observations and perceptions of Argentina both linguistically and culturally, as it relates to the US and, occasionally, Italy. There are aspects of Italy, Spain and the US in Argentina and I hope to be able to share with you all that I find to be most interesting and exciting about this cool country.  Therefore, beginning Monday, October 3, I will do my best to make a daily column about some interesting language aspect of Argentine Spanish (I’ll call it “El rincón idiomático” the language corner) as well as something relating to Argentine culture (“El rincón cultural” – the culture corner).  In addition I’ll try to post other things about my trips to different places and other experiences.

I hope you’ll follow the blog with me this year and share my fabulous journey through life in Argentina… Welcome aboard!
